The
Illustration Process... The first thing an illustrator should be concerned about is the overall design of the image. Speed Painting allows for the design of an image using a broad stroke approach, avoiding all unnecessary details and working with larger shapes (ie. an oval for a head, rectangle for a building, etc.). Loose pencil sketches work to the same end. Working quickly will instill a certain energy to the design that may be sustained through subsequent levels of development.
