The Illustration Process



The process of illustration is one where an image is developed to satisfy a set of requirements and designed to most effectively follow that directive. The most typical application for illustration is found where artwork has been used to support a separate piece of work, such as a magazine article, video game, or a movie. Another major use of illustration is to help sell a product by explaining aspects of that product, or at times, by creating look or mood to establish or reinforce branding. Concept illustration involves the creation of artwork that allows the creative team of a motion picture begin to visualize how a scene might look.
