Storyboarding

Introduction and Overview

A storyboard is a visual outline of a film (be it a short film or feature film) or animation. This collection of images
are displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a filmed video, animation, motion graphic,
or other interactive media sequence.Storyboards are also used in the development of comic books
and motion pictures. Storyboarding is the process of developing a story sequence with
accompanying images, video sequences (described at this stage with still images),
audio and narration (provided at this stage as text).

The storyboard is an important part of the preproduction process and
consists of a series of images that show everything that’s going to happen in
the finished film or video. Many storyboards are hand-drawn, but some
creators or animators
choose to use storyboarding software. The finished result resembles a comic book or a graphic novel.
