Developing a Storyboad From the Screenplay |
The screenplay, or teleplay, refers to any written script intended for movies and television, the small, silver screen. As our communication mediums have developed, it has now also been used to describe the skeleton outline of interactive presentations, such as the narrative video game. A script is the initial outline of a production. It includes things like dialogue and actions, but it may not include foundational information needed for production. A screenplay is the finalized outline of the project, essentially being a step above a script. Storyboard artists are the link between script and screenplay and final production. Let's take a look at a website that is an archive of many examples of screen plays. We will be tasked with reading some of them to find a story and a scene that we intend on developing into a storyboard. It will become he basis for our Final Project - which will see the scene developed from pencil drawing to animatic. For that reason, you should take some time reading through sections of a number of these so to arrive at the best project to suit your interest and your style. |
